Rams Head Presents – Key West announces New Orleans based, American rock band The Revivalists will perform April 18 at Coffee Butler Key West Amphitheater at Truman Waterfront Park as part of their Into The Stars headlining tour.
Join them for a concert under the stars featuring chart-topping, New Orleans based, eight-piece band, The Revivalists as the band returns to Key West just in time for the 37th Annual Conch Republic Independence Celebration! The soulful alt-rock anthems on their latest album translate into a live powerhouse of a performance, complete with soaring pedal steel guitar, pounding percussion, irresistible horns and topped off with charismatic front man David Shaw’s undeniable voice.
Representing a vast swath of the country and defying regional pigeonholes, David Shaw’s roots are in the Rust Belt, while Zack, Ed, and George hail from the Tri-States and Michael and Rob from the Southwest. Andrew cut his teeth bashing the drums in the DC scene and newcomer PJ made his bones in Chicago. However, The Crescent City would ultimately bring them together. Since forming in New Orleans, the group quietly grinded towards international ubiquity one gig, song, and album at a time.
The band has made the rounds on television with performances on Today, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, Ellen, and Conan. Acclaim has come from USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Forbes, Flaunt, Buzzfeed, Uproxx, Billboard, and more with Rolling Stone touting them among “10 Artists You Need To Know.” Along the way, they garnered a Billboard Music Awards nomination and two nods at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Between countless gigs, the musicians also ignited festival stages at Bonnaroo, Governor’s Ball, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Outside Lands, and Pilgrimage, to name a few!
In addition to their lengthy list of tour dates for 2020, The Revivalists have announced the creation of Rev Causes, an umbrella fund that will make donations to causes that are close to the band’s heart. $1 from every ticket sold beginning with the Into The Stars tour will be donated to a variety of organizations through Rev Causes. There will also be numerous other ways to contribute to the fund. Initial organizations to which Rev Causes will donate include Center for Disaster Philanthropy, Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Songs for Kids Foundation, and Upturn Arts.
When Shaw looks back on it all, he smiles, “It’s been quite the ride.” In the end, The Revivalists welcome listeners on this journey with them as they set out with a newfound depth and ambition.
Stephen Marley and PJ Morton will bring their respective talent to The Amp as well. Enjoy local food vendors, stocked bars, take home items from local artisans and a one in a million view of the Gulf of Mexico – Key West Amphitheater has everything you need for a memorable concert experience in Key West.
