The Road to Florida exhibit at Davis Art Center

The Road to Florida juried art exhibit will be featured in the downstairs Grand Atrium of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in June.
This juried show asked: What brought you to Florida? Are you a Florida born? What keeps you in Florida? The sunshine state has many things to offer, beautiful beaches, great weather all year round, natural wonders, and exuberant vegetation.
For this year’s challenge, the art center wanted to see what brought you to Florida or what is keeping you here. Artists were invited to let their imagination run wild to show why they love Florida. Prizes will be awarded: $500 for Best in Show, $250 for SBDAC Staff Pick and $250 for People’s Choice.
Upstairs in the Capital Gallery, an exhibit titled Elementary will showcase the talents of local elementary students.
Both galleries are open for viewing June 3 – 24. Opening night for both exhibitions will be during Art Walk on Friday, June 3 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located in the heart of historic downtown Fort Myers at 2301 First St. For more information, visit www.sbdac.com or call 239-333-1933.
