New Phoenix Theatre’s second season continues in January with Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies.
Time Stands Still focuses on Sarah and James, a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent, trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy. Theirs is a partnership based on telling the toughest stories, and together, making a difference. But when their own story takes a sudden turn, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.
Performances of Time Stands Still will be Jan. 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 and Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 19, 26 and Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.
The new theatre group’s second season began in October with the cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show, followed by Inspecting Carol in December. The raucous musical The Full Monty will be performed in February and March.
The season ends with two powerful pieces, Terrence McNally’s Lips Together, Teeth Apart opening April 16 and comedian and movie star Steve Martin’s new comedy, Meteor Shower opening May 28.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
New Phoenix Theatre, located at 13211 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers, is a not-for-profit community theater that was established in 2018.
