Tower Gallery reopened its doors to the public Feb. 15.
Fortunately, this gallery suffered only minor damage during Hurricane Ian.
All the artwork has been re-hung. The new hours for the gallery are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday until further notice.
This year marks the 41st anniversary of this iconic gallery making it the longest running gallery in all of Lee County, if not Southwest Florida.
Tower Gallery is an artists’ cooperative consisting of 23 artists in two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, ceramic, fiber, wood, glass and metal. The gallery was founded in 1982, and moved to its present location in 1994. It is housed in a spacious original Florida cottage, with Craftsman elements, that was originally built on the gulf in 1915 and moved to its present site on a flatbed truck. The two-story turquoise house is in its repainted but original construction.
A ribbon cutting with the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for March 2 at 11:30 a.m.
Tower Gallery is located at 751 Tarpon Bay Road on Sanibel Island.
