Tower Gallery on Sanibel is a cooperative consisting of 25 artists in two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, ceramic, jewelry, fiber, wood, glass and metal.
Artist Anne Schroeder is part of that cooperative.
Anne paints wildlife on naturally shed feathers (legal & humanely sourced) and uses her old boating chart to matt the paintings and repurposed old lobster trap wood for frames.
The Florida Keys were her home for most of her life. She spent a great deal of time boating, snorkeling and diving the once stunning reefs. Shells, feathers & driftwood were her treasures. I started creating art at a very young age.

At 16, she received a scholarship to Ringling School of Arts. At 18, she won a scholarship to study in Italy, through Florida International University in conjunction with the University of Bologna, Italy. It was 2004 when the feathers became a prominent fixture in her work.
Her work has been featured on PBS television’s Art Loft series: Episode #249 & # 349. You can see her largest works, to date, installed at the Christian Louboutin boutique in the Miami Design District. She was commissioned to create a tryptic of feather collages, each being 8 feet tall by 4 feet wide. In September of 2017, Hurricane Irma flooded her Keys apartment and that October saw her moving to her new home in Fort Myers where she now resides full time.
Tower Gallery is located at 751 Tarpon Bay Road on Sanibel and is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more details, call the gallery at 239-472-4557 or visit online at
