Vinyl Vibes is a retro records series that features some of the nations best tribute acts at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center. The Hotter Than July: Stevie Wonder Tribute Show is scheduled for March 19, and Turnstiles: The Billy Joel Tribute band will perform April 16.
Hotter Than July is a Stevie Wonder tribute band that is a high energy, soulful group of talented and experienced musicians. Led by professional musician Gerry Williams, in honor of the man believed to be one of the most incredible and complete recording artists of all time, is an unbounded vocalist and percussionist who brings funk on the keys.
This is a band audiences can’t help but to get on their feet and groove to. Backed by rhythm and horns, performing Stevie’s greatest hits from “Sign Sealed Delivered” to “I Wish,” this band knows how to entertain a crowd.
Stevie Wonder is beautifully portrayed by Williams, an industry veteran vocal coach with a background in artist development that garnered him the reputation as the ‘boy band guy’ since the onset of the pop groups that emerged in the mid ‘90s. Several of his vocal students are Grammy and Dove Award Winners – Mandy Moore, Jordan Knight (New Kids on the Block), Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees), Chris Kirkpatrick (N’Sync), to name a few.
Williams has also produced and written songs for artists such as Jordan Knight and C’Note. He has also been a featured vocal coach on the reality TV shows, Mission Man Band and Big in America.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails and the concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $50 and VIP is $65. The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First St. in the Fort Myers River District.
